This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing modules.
You can drag and and drop to rearrange.
You can edit modules to customize them.
The left side has modules you can add!
Some modules you can only access when you get a subscription.
Some modules have options that are only available when you get a subscription.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain modules can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Ok, I've looked at every single one of your pieces in your gallery, took notes, references, ideas... But I still can't seem to get your art style down! I love your dragons SO much, and I love the style you've done them in... But I just can't get it right. So because I can't take it in by eye, I'm forced to bombard you with questions; How long has it taken you to get where you are now? What were the most influential sites, artists, books, etc. for you? Where do you get your ideas? And do you plan on someday giving/making tutorials to mortals like me? Or at least a few pointers would help... I greatly envy your work and I would be most pleased if you could give me a few tips or hints! -Thanks for taking the time to read this!
Aw, you give me more credit than I deserve lol. I'm flattered though c': To be honest, you're probably having trouble imitating my style because... I haven't found it myself yet. Hehe. Really though- I'm just 16 and still exploring so many different tastes in art! I change my mind on what style I want, and my gallery is so inconsistent- it reflects just that. I'm experimenting.
I've actively developed my drawing for about four years now and this site was where I got most of my inspiration. Just by absorbing what I saw. I have wanted to make a book, or tut of sorts often before. But I'm hesitant because of how my style fluctuates. I hope that answers some of your questions?
Wait, you're only 16?! I'm 16 and I've been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil, yet I'm STILL not as epic as you. I've tried all sorts of books, but they never help. And I try taking reference from pictures here on dA, but I havn't the slightest clue on how to put them into my own drawings. I feel so helpless.
Like, on your picture here ->[link] That one there is one of my favorites. The lines look so clean, and the sketches to the right... They just look so well done. I've tried several times to mimic the basic build on that one, but I failed miserabley every time. What do you find helps with smoothing lines? And do you draw out an under structure for your dragons, or do you just start on the main outline?
Bah, books are only good for tracing. l: But I know what you mean. Whenever I set out with the intention of improvement, it never comes. It's hard.
And with the lines, I just use photoshop- working several times larger and then resizing down in your final piece makes everything cleaner and allows for more detail. I use circles for my dragons sometimes, but it all depends- with faces I sketch the outline to begin with. For anatomy's sake I like to use shapes before I line it out.
